Barbara Peters
Barbara C. Peters studied Molecular Genetics at the University of Vienna and received her Ph.D. in this field in 1996. She spent her postdoctoral studies at the Wageningen Agricultural University, The Netherlands, and at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA. In 1999 she joined Amgen GmbH in Vienna as Drug Safety Manager and later as Medical Information Manager responsible for in sales force and CRA trainings and all aspects of science communications. In 2004 she moved on to the European Headquarters of Amgen in Switzerland to take a position as Global Medical Communications Manager with main tasks of organizing educational events and publication planning. In 2009 she became Head of Training and Education at the Clinical Trial Unit at the University Hospital Basel. Since 2014 Barbara is heading the Training and Education unit of the Department of Clinical Research (Departement Klinische Forschung, DKF), University of Basel, managing more than 20 different training offers for all stakeholders in clinical research including patients and public. In addition, Barbara is Head of Communication at the DKF Basel.
